Pneumatic Training

8:00am - 5:00pm

$75.00 per person

Learn how to manage pneumatic control elements to improve efficiency to pneumatic mechanical systems using factory calibration procedures. This course is designed primarily for operating engineers and building operators, maintenance supervisors and HVAC service techs requiring more in-depth pneumatic control’s calculation training.

Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of pneumatic components and mechanical systems.

Class Outline :

Room Thermostats
• Explain the operational differences between a high and low volume thermostat.
• Explain the operation of a Day/Night pneumatic room thermostat.
• Calibrate a signal pressure room thermostat
• Calibrate a dual pressure room thermostat

Remote Bulb Thermostats
• Explain the difference between a Bleed and non-bleed type controller.
• Explain the operation of remote bulb thermostat.
• Calibrate a signal pressure Remote bulb thermostat.

Receiver Controller
• Develop the concept between a Primary and Secondary Control Loop.
• Explain the concept of direct and reverse reset application of a receiver controller.
• Explain the differences between the types of control modes of a Two Position, Proportional and Proportional plus Integral controller.
• Calculate the Proportional Band and Authority for a Receiver Controller.
• Calibrate a single and dual input Receiver Controller

Pneumatic Transmission
• Describe the operation of a pneumatic transmitter.
• Calculate the sensitivity of pneumatic transmitters
• Calculate a control variable to a corresponding pressure equivalent

Pneumatic Auxiliary Devices
• Identify the operational differences between a Diverting Selector Switch, Air Switching Valve, Multi-Purpose Relay, Amplify and Retard Relay, Minimum Position Relay, Reversing Relay, High Signal Select, Low Signal Select and a High/Low Signal Selector device.
• Describe the setup and installation of a Low temperature Detector.
• Calibrate a Diverting Selector Switch, Air Switching Valve, Multi-Purpose Relay, Amplify and Retard Relay, Minimum Position Relay, Reversing Relay, High Signal Select, Low Signal Select and a High/Low Signal Selector device.
